I got this for my first big architecture job. Wearing it on the construction site made me feel silly and important at the same time. I always enjoyed the unexpected aesthetic statement it made.

About:

The On View project was an installation at the Gelman Gallery in the RISD Museum of art. The piece explored the role objects play in defining us and questioned what value lies in their materiality versus the experiences with which they are associated. About one hundred objects from my every-day life were displayed as if in a small shop. Each object had a price tag with its name, how long I've had it, and the story of why it is significant to me. In order to experience the piece fully the viewer needed to take an active role and read the tags. The question where an object's value lies was furthered by a storytelling performance that took advantage of the site as a stage to tell the various stories of the objects.
